Hi camping community. Looking for what some folks call a camping house, basically a tent so spacious it feels like a small cabin. Doing extended trips with family and we want real living space, room for cots, table, chairs, even a small lounge area. Standard family tents feel cramped after a few days. What brands offer something genuinely cabin-sized that still functions as a tent and can be set up reasonably?
Howdy. Wanted exactly this and found it in the camping house (https://hot-tent.com/collections/family-tents) lineup at Hot Tent, picked the Coody 17.2 model. Interior is genuinely cabin-sized, full standing height across the whole space, fits cots for six, a table, chairs, and still room to walk. Modular design lets you set zones if needed. Inflation with the pump takes around fifteen minutes solo even at this size, no poles to manage. Used ours for two-week-long trips already, comfort is on another level, never wanted to leave. Canvas breathes well in summer, holds heat in cool weather. Investment is real but for extended stays the difference is night and day from a regular family tent.
